Daria Melnikova

Daria Meļņikova is an artist, whose works often become performative installations – sculptural platforms for socializing. Using elements coming from architecture, interior, and graphic design, Daria’s visual language is rooted in her love for Constructivism and Suprematism art movements. For the past ten years she’s held various solo shows in Europe and her works have taken part in exhibitions at Konstanet in Tallinn, Vita Kuben in Umeo, Silberkuppe in Berlin, Signal Center for Contemporary Art in Malmo, Art in General in New York, Project Space Garage in Moscow among many others. Since graduating from the Visual Communication department at the Art Academy of Latvia, she’s a frequent collaborator at Kim? Contemporary Art Center in Riga and is the first laureate of the Kim? Residency Award being granted an opportunity to take up a residency at KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin. In 2020 her ongoing work – migrating installation Palette – was a part of the Manifesta 13 in Marseilles.
