MAREUNROL'S
MAREUNROL’S (Rolands Pēterkops and Mārīte Mastiņa-Pēterkopa) is one of the most internationally recognized Latvian fashion labels. The duo’s visual language can be described as storytelling via clothing, resulting in a conceptual artwork. MAREUNROL’S merge fashion and contemporary art, their work often becoming an immersive multi-disciplinary installation that mixes visual codes rooted in Latvian folklore, contemplates the materiality of today, and deconstructs the futuristic sense of time and space.
Soon after emerging in 2006, they received Grand Prix in the 24th International Hyeres Fashion and Photography Festival (2009) in France and made their way to Paris Fashion Week (2012 onwards). MAREUNROL’S has been included in Phaidon’s almanac Pattern as one of 100 most exceptional designers (2013) and were selected as one of ten nominees for the prestigious Woolmark prize that celebrates outstanding fashion talents across the globe (2016). Along with creating fashion collections, they are recognized for designing costumes and sets for opera, theatre, and cinema in Latvia and abroad.
MAREUNROL'S are nominated by UKMVA for best wardrobe styling in a video for their work in Tommy Cash Racked.
